Newspapers
As the United Arab Emirates' official language is Arabic,
there are more Arabic daily newspapers than English and below
we have included the three daily english newspapers published
in the UAE.

Gulf
News is undoubtably the most popular English newspaper
in the United Arab Emirates and comes with a daily tabloid.
On Wednesdays, you get the Entertainment Plus magazine
which has entertainment news, radio information, cinema
showtimes, and TV schedules.

Khaleej Times was the first English daily newspaper in the UAE, and goes by the slogan "No. 1 By Far". It inlcudes local, regional and world news, and comes with features like City Times, Classifieds Times, and Weekend. Khaleej Times also publishes the children's weekly magazine Young Times.

The newest and last English daily newspaper was started by the popular Arabic daily, Al Khaleej, and is known as Gulf Today. Its newspaper contains local, regional and world news, and is smaller than Gulf News and Khaleej Times. |
Magazines
There are several local and regional magazines distributed
in the United Arab Emirates, but we are only going to focus
on the ones published in the UAE. These magazines provide
great information about whats going on in the country and
the region. These magazines normally feature recipes, perfumes,
fashion trends, and shopping features.

Woman
Monthly magazine launched in 1981 and is a glossy magazine dedicated to women living in the UAE and the Gulf, and is similar to magazines of its type found abroad. It features articles and interviews for high-flying career women to family-minded mothers, and includes exciting promotions in each issue. The magazine is the most popular English women's magazine in the UAE and costs Dhs. 10 (US$ 3).

Dubai / Time Out Abu Dhabi
Similar to TimeOut New York and London, the local Time Out magazines feature information about accomodations, bars & pubs, city links, coffee shops, essential information, events & promotions, nightlife, restaurants, and shopping. Each of these monthly magazines cost Dhs. 10 (US$ 3).

Explore / Abu Dhabi Explore
If you are new to Dubai or Abu Dhabi and want to have a useful guide to whats around you and find out things you can do or go to, you will find an excellent amount of information featured in both publications including resident tips and advice, restaurant and cafe reviews, leisure and sporting activities, and maps. Each cost Dhs. 65 (US$ 18) and are available at various gas stations, and major supermarkets.

Arabian Woman / Arabian Man
Arabian Woman is another great glossy magazines and contains a variety of articles, special international reports and much more. It has a great regular article that recommends a list of handy websites, which is very useful. Arabian Man has similar articles and features alot about cars. You can learn alot from reading both these magazines and they cost Dhs. 10 (US$ 3) each. |
